Managing preceptors

Directors and admins can manage the list of approved preceptors. Preceptor profiles are not tied to a single organization, but can be approved for your organization.

Go to the Preceptors screen

  1. Go to the Settings page. If you're using a mobile device, you may need to access this page by first tapping (menu).

  2. Under People, tap Preceptors.

The list of preceptors appears.

Preceptor profiles are not tied to a single organization. This list shows all preceptors that have ever participated in evaluations for your organization. Approved preceptors will appear in the Evaluator picker on eval entry forms.

Approving a preceptor

Tap Approve at the bottom of the screen to add a new preceptor, or search the system for an existing preceptor to approve for your organization.

Programs may choose to require preceptors to be approved in Organization Options. • If Approved Preceptors Required is ON, students can only select from this list when choosing a shift evaluator.

• If Approved Preceptors Required is OFF, students can search the nationwide database or manually add new preceptors if needed.

Alternatively, you can view a preceptor's details and tap the Approved toggle. Approved preceptors will be indicated by the icon.
