Overview
Education programs use EMCE to arrange student practice at hospitals, ambulance services, and other clinical or field sites. Each site is represented by an organization that your program adds as a Schedule Location.
Your partners can participate in two ways. Choose the approach that fits the work they want to do; the same partner can use both.
Choose an approach
Section titled “Choose an approach”| Your partner wants to… | Approach | Start here |
|---|---|---|
| Know when students are coming | Schedule Viewer | Share a saved schedule |
| Receive updates without remembering to check the schedule | Schedule Viewer, using email | Configure schedule emails |
| Create placement opportunities and make slots available to your program | Scheduling Partner | Work with a Scheduling Partner |
Schedule Viewers receive your schedules
Section titled “Schedule Viewers receive your schedules”A Schedule Viewer is a person authorized to view one or more saved schedules. For example, a hospital coordinator can view a schedule filtered to placements at that hospital.
Viewers can open a public link without signing in, sign in to see attendee names, and receive emails. These methods work together. A viewer can receive recurring digests and open the linked schedule whenever they need current information.
The partner does not need to claim its organization simply to receive schedules. One viewer can receive schedules from more than one education program.
Scheduling Partners create opportunities
Section titled “Scheduling Partners create opportunities”A Scheduling Partner is a clinical or field organization that uses EMCE to create placement events and share available slots with education programs.
“Scheduling Partner” describes how the organization participates. There is no separate account role with that name. Its staff use Director, Administrator, or Instructor profiles with scheduling responsibility.
For example, an ambulance service can create ride-along events, make student slots available to selected programs, and review the students assigned to those events.
